80th Birthday Music

Music for an 80th birthday party should be kept low-key because most people at this age don’t really like loud music blasting in their ears.  It may affect their hearing when in a crowd.  However there is a time for playing music, especially if you have a dance floor.

Someone who is turning 80 may appreciate a bluegrass band to come and play for them.  Many people who are this age love to watch music much more than they like to just listen to it.  There is something about having live music at an 80th birthday party that makes the party even more special.  Even if it’s not everyone’s favorite genre of music, they will enjoy seeing the band and the antics of the crowd while they are playing the music.

If you can’t afford to hire a whole band to play at the 80th birthday party, think about a solo artist such as a fiddler.  This would work especially nice at a reunion type birthday party because you can have your guests square-dance for one of the activities.

No matter what type of music you intend to play at the 80th birthday party make sure your guest of honor is enjoying it throughout the party.  If you see they are becoming agitated or uncomfortable in any way, do something to alleviate them by taking them outside or having the music turned down a few levels.
