80th Birthday Activities

Since the person’s birthday you are celebrating is turning 80, birthday activities will be limited to what the guest of honor can physically do.  There is no need to plan out several activities for this party because typically it will be a shorter length of time than a birthday party for someone much younger would be.

If you are using the reunion theme for the 80th birthday party, you can set up a horseshoe court for the guests to play.  You can also create a dance floor and even hire a dance instructor to teach the guests how to square-dance.  Bring photo albums from the guest of honor’s home to share with the guests while you are celebrating.

For the bookworm, you can choose several books that you know the honoree has read to discuss.  You can also play a game called “What Author am I?” by writing names of famous authors on pieces of paper and pin one to each guest’s back.  The guests then ask yes or no questions to figure out what author is pinned to their own back.

The crazy 80’s dinner party them will use the actual dinner as the main activity at this 80th birthday party.  There is no need to plan any other activities because the meal will take up the whole party time.

Pin the Tail on the Donkey is a good activity to play at an 80th birthday party for someone who is young at heart.  Other ideas for children’s games include musical chairs, clothespin drop, and you can even hire a clown to make balloon animals for the guests.
